C is for Candy alphabet craft

momstown Hamilton made a great C is for Candy craft in their Alphabet Play program - they looked good enough to eat!

What you need:

  • Construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Candy (leftover treats that you don't want them to eat anyways!)

 

 

c is for candyUse popsicle sticks to apply glue onto the cut-out letter c and glue on as much candy as you can fit. This is a great time to practice patterning and sorting skills, too!

Of course no alphabet craft complication would be complete with an m for momtown on this site!

What you need:

  • Construction paper
  • momstown logos (try some print screens!!)
  • momstown coloured dots

m is for momstownCut out a lower case 'm' (momstown is always lower-case!), glue onto construction paper. Have your child cut out logos and dots, and apply wherever they like!

What you need:

  • Construction paper
  • Glue
  • Bendaroos or yarn or pipe cleaner

 

w for wiggly wormCut out a 'w' from construction paper and glue onto another piece. Then add 'worms' using Bendaroos, yarn, or pipe cleaner!

o is for oatmeal

momstown's got a whole new use for yummy oatmeal to bring to the craft table today! A sensory craft and an alphabet craft all in one with our o is for oatmeal activity.

What you need:

  • Plastic spoon
  • Construction paper
  • Scissors
  • White glue
  • Oatmeal

 

o is for oatmealCut out a letter o and glue onto construction paper. The 'o' becomes the bowl.

Squeeze a generous amount of white glue in the middle (kids love to help with this part!) and have your child spoon oatmeal from a small bowl, into the letter 'o' bowl! Then glue the spoon down (this will confuse your toddler!)

 

Oatmeal is a great sensory craft tool. You can use it in so many ways. momstown has tried:

t is for turkey

Cover off a fall holiday and an alphabet craft in one with momstown's t is for turkey lower case letter alphabet craft.

 

t is for turkey craft

 

What you need:

  • Feathers (craft ones)
  • Construction paper
  • Buttons, beads, or googly eyes
  • Construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

 

t is for turkey craftCut out two strips to form the lower case 't'. Good cutting practice in straight lines for little hands!

 

Glue on googly eyes or beads to make the eyes, and a red feather or construction paper can make the neck.

 

t is for turkey craftThen get feather-ing! Apply glue and have your child add the feathers to the turkey.

v is for vase

momstown's crafters found some flowered wrapping paper scraps - so we recycled them and turned them into flower for our v is for vase craft!

 

v is for vase

 

What you need:

  • Construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Gluestick
  • Wrapping Paper or flyers/magazine pictures of flowers

 

v is for vaseCut out a lower case 'v' from construction paper. Have your child help - v's have lots of straight lines and are easier to cut than most letters.

Glue the v onto another piece of construction paper. This makes the vase.

 

v is for vaseCut out flowers from gift wrap (or you could draw them if you don't have any, or look through magazines for some) and glue on inside the 'vase'.

V is for Victory! And a job well done.

 

You can also use leftover gift wrap in our g is for gift craft or f is for fish activity.
