momstown had a Valentine's party and everyone made their own Valentine's necklace - a true one of a kind piece of art made by kids of all ages!

What you need:
- Salt dough* (add red food colouring)
- Heart-shaped cookie cutters
- Ribbons
- Pencil to poke hole in heart
- Paint
*Stir together 2 cups flour, 1 cup salt, 1 1/2 cups cold water (maybe a bit less), 2 Tbsp oil. Stir until a soft dough forms.
Have kids help roll the dough - a great sensory activity.
Cut dough with heart-shaped cookie cutters. Poke holes in dough large enough to thread a ribbon. Bake at 300 degrees for an hour.
When cooled, paint with red, pink, white and purple paint - any way your child likes.
Let dry. Once dry, thread a ribbon through the hole, and you have a handmade Valentine's necklace!
