Try this simple butterfly craft! Great practice with symmetry (if your child is up for it!)
What you need:
- Construction paper
- Stickers or cutouts and glue
Fold a piece of paper in half and then cut out half a butterfly shape. Unfold and you have a perfectly symmetrical butterfly. We drew circles on this butterfly, and decorated the insides. Simple and fun!
Here's a great story about butterflies to enjoy with your child:
Butterfly, Butterfly by Petr Horacek
A little girl named Lucy finds a butterfly one day, but the next day she can’t see it anywhere. She searches outdoors and sees lots of other insects, and finally when she looks up, she finds here butterfly in the sky – the last page ends with a huge pop-out butterfly that will delight all ages!
