We turned a letter G into a full-fledged garden!
Our garden is complete with flowers, grass, sunshine, butterflies, and even some rain!
What you need:
- Construction paper
- Pipe cleaners
- G cut-outs
- Butterflies (optional)
Draw the upper-case G with marker. Then start building your garden! We cut out strips of green construction paper for grass, used pipe cleaners for flower stems, and "G"s for flowers!
Then we added a few ingredients that all gardens need... sunshine, and rain! We talked about another 'G' word - 'Grow'! It was a great opportunity to talk about living things, and how they all need food, water, and air to survive.
Remember that "G" words have either a hard G (like garden, grow) or a soft G (like gym, gerbil). Start with the hard-G sound when you are introducing letter sounds, just to keep it consistent!
