Check out this super cute way to combine letter recognition with a spring butterfly craft! momstown Newmarket Aurora also had a fun time at their alphabet playgroup making this craft!

Lots of opportunities to explore letters and sounds, symmetry, and fine motor skills with this project.

What you will need:
- Construction paper cut into two "B"s
- Pipe cleaner
- Foamy circle stickers for the body (or pom poms would work too)
- Bingo dabbers
- Glue
- Scissors

Have your child glue the two letter B's on construction paper, facing outwards to form the butterfly wings.

Use bingo dabbers to decorate the wings.

Glue or stick foamy circles in the middle to form the butterfly's body. Add pipe cleaner antennae or draw them on with markers.

There are some great butterfly books that momstown recommends - try Waiting for Wings by Lois Ehlert. It's a great story about the life cycle of a butterfly!
Here's momstown Hamilton making the B is for Butterfly craft in their Alphabet Play program!
