As spring arrives, new life appears all the time! Butterflies are a sure sign that we've said goodbye to winter. You can talk to your child about how a caterpillar becomes a butterfly, and then have fun making your own!

What you need:
- Coffee filters
- Markers
- Pipe cleaners
Have children decorate the coffee filters. They can use markers, or bingo dabbers, or paint. Then pinch the middle closed with a pipe cleaner by wrapping it around the centre, and form antennae using the remaining ends of the pipe cleaners.
Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a great accompaniment to this craft - an easy, fun way for children to learn about the butterfly life cycle!
