These flowers look beautiful enough to be real - or least silk! But they were made at home with a crafty momstown grandmom and her grandkids!

What you need: coffee filters, markers, pipe cleaners, and a spray bottle filled with water.

Open the coffee filters.  Have kids decorate with markers any way they wish. Then, spray water on the filter - this will allow the markers to bleed and make some great designs.

Let dry. Once dry, you can thread a pipe cleaner through each filter and fold them around it to give it a real flower petal look.

Five Spring Flowers – Poem

(in the style of ‘Five Little Pumpkins’)

Five spring flowers, all in a row.
The first one said, "We need rain to grow!"
The second one said, "Oh my, we need water!"
The third one said, "Yes, it is getting hotter!"
The fourth one said, "I see clouds in the sky."
The fifth one said, "I wonder why?"

Then BOOM went the thunder
And ZAP went the lightning!
That springtime storm was really frightening!
But the flowers weren't worried–no, no, no, no!
The rain helped them to grow, grow, GROW!
