We all have them! Leftover candy canes in our houses in January... so momstown came up with a fun way to use them with your kids without worrying about cavities!
You will need:
- Candy cane
- Construction paper
- White chalk
- Markers, paint, or whatever your child wants to create with!
- Glue (recommend hot glue gun – mom only!)

Using the chalk, help your child draw a diagonal line at one end of the construction paper. This makes the ‘snowhill’. Have your child fill in the snowhill with chalk or white paint (sponge painting works well!). Using a glue gun (or white glue), affix the candy cane, hook pointing downhill, to the page so it becomes the sled!

Now your child can create a rider for the sled and add more detail to the picture! My older son cut out construction paper to make a person, while my younger one found some leftover stickers and built himself a hockey player/sledder.

We also pulled the ends off some Q -tips to make snow – to really complete the winter scene!
This craft must have been inspiring, because not long after, we were off sledding ourselves at the local hill! Too bad our toboggan isn’t edible...
